Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for the month of September 2022

This Labor day our fishing report starts off with more great news of what we had last month.  The larger marlin, sailfish and mah-mahi have started to move into our fishing grounds here in Nuevo Vallarta. . The weather has been perfect with the minus passing of a few storms offshore. Not many people know September as one of the better months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. First, there are less people here with school back in full swing in the United States and Mexico. Second, we have more bait that comes into our bay and offshore fishing area. If you read my fishing reports you will always here me talk about following the bait trail. If you are on the bait you will be on the fish. One of the last factors is it’s still summertime and the days are long.  Sun comes up here in September at 7.30 am and sets about 8.30 p.m. Giving up plenty of daylight hrs. to hunt down any type of fish you may be looking for. September is a great month for dorados, sailfish, marlin, tuna and all the game fish you want to catch in the bay of Nuevo Vallarta. Let’s talk about where we fish in the month of September. read more

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report January

Happy new year from Nuevo Vallarta, where the fish are always hungry. This last December saw some fantastic action. We had multiple hookups with some sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi and, much other pelagic fish. This was done mostly to the warmer waters hanging around longer than normal. The water temperatures are still in the high 70’s. Good news for all anglers venturing out for a fun day here in Mexico. Nuevo Vallarta has been on fire to put it lightly. This coming January we are expecting much of the same weather 70 degrees to so and some fabulous fishing inshore and offshore. Seem like the lady anglers we have been taking out are kicking butt and taking names. Take a look at some of these January catches.
What can folks expect to catch this January? With the water temperature abnormally high that we are having and the overabundance of bait inside the bay and offshore we are predicting the same as December. Normally when the water changes we have species of fish that leave and look for warmer water or different baits but this year they have stayed. Seems like when one species of fish leave another comes along and keeps the fishing interesting here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico.
These warm water temps have been producing sailfish out by the islands and offshore in good numbers. Several of our best Capts. Have been catching double and even triple hookups offshore. The marlin bite has been steady. The two best fishing spots are el Banco and Corebetena. The same as the years past. There are the few marlins caught in the bay and along the north shore from time to time. The Mahi-mahi action has been off the charts. We had one-day last week where the clients had 20 dorados in one day and some marlin action. Many of the trips this last month of the year were offshore as the bite was so good. I’m sure we will be having much of the same this coming month. Check out some of the best rates in Nuevo Vallarta fishing.
The inshore action lit up the bay with the arrival of the humpback whales and all kinds of good-eating fish. What’s not to like about nonstop rod-bending action all day along with catching some fantastic eating fish to take back to the condo. The Spanish mackerel, California Bonita, snapper, and some Mahi-mahi have kept our fishing anglers busy this January. With the arrival of the new year 2022, we have some new trips to talk about.
We have been getting many requests for fishing and whale watching we decided to offer a fishing/whale watching combo trip. This is a 6 hr trip with grantee success on whales and fish. The humpback whales are here every year from Alaska here from December to March and will have this special trip to offer everyone coming down to beautiful Nuevo Vallarta where the friendliest people in the world live. Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for December

The in-the-know anglers enjoy in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of December. Some of the most obvious reasons are incredible weather, sunny skies, fantastic lodging, nightlife, and incredible offshore fishing. Deep-sea fishing in the winter here is a lot like Christmas, ya never know what you are going to catch. The following species of pelagic fish will be had inshore and offshore. Try your hand at fishing for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, and mahi-mahi in Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters coming and going it keeps us guessing as to what the bite will be tomorrow. The one constant thing we can count on is good fishing in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
The sailfish, tuna, and marlin love the semi-warm water that we have all winter long. When most of the United States and Canada are putting their boat is storage we are in full fishing mode here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters and abundance of bait you just never know what you can catch here. We have all kinds of fish, but the constant changing of water temps and currents keeps us on toes or should I say our boats.
If you are looking for marlin fishing in the winter we have right here for some offshore fishing. The plan will be for 8 hours to 10 hrs or even 12 hours depending on where the blue water is and the bait movement. If you follow our fishing reports I always say follow the bait and you will find the fish. The huge marlin loves the warmer water but will not starve themselves to death. We all have to eat and so do the marlin. Hence we have to follow the baits and the other fishing conditions that are tale-tale signs the fish will be biting in our area. If the conditions change so do we. Follow the fish to success.
The sailfish swims in temperatures that can range from 75 to 80 degrees water but with some exceptions. We see these fish in the summer when the water temp is above 80 degree. That is what makes the winter fishing in Nuevo Vallarta so nice is the perfect water temperatures. With all kinds of bait like mullet, sardine and goggle-eye,bonitas, chorras there’s nothing holding us back here in Puerto Vallarta fishing. If you want excitement try fishing with 5 to 10 lbs baits for our blue and black marlin.  read more
